"Step by step into a future worth living"
Empor is supporting civil reconstruction in Afghanistan. Our focus is the treatment of victims of explosive mines and disabled people, applying orthopaedic aids, and the establishment of orthopaedic workshops.
Empor eV Germany since 2005 promotes the orthopedic workshop of Empor Afghanistan in Kabul. In 2012, a second workshop in Mazar-i-Sharif was opened, in 2013 was added Bhamyan. All workshops are directed by Wali Nawabi. The following services are offered:
Empor eV aims in the long term to create a nationwide network of orthopedic workshops in Afghanistan. In this way, care for the disabled and war wounded is permanently secured, even if international aid agencies leave Afghanistan. To realize this project, local experts are trained and supported, to open their own workshops, especially in rural and underserved areas. With the proposed project Empor eV contributes to improve the infrastructure in place and set in motion a sustainable development.
In the workshop in Kabul for example, about 140 adults and 90 children and young people are provided with orthopedic aids annually.
Most patients are poor and can not afford the care. Germany therefore tries to gather up material and financial donations to facilitate the work site.
