50000 - 20000 BC
Finds of stone-age technology in Aq Kupruk and Hazar Sum.

3000 - 2000 BC
Flourishing of the so-called cultural oasis in the north of modern Afghanistan.
First urban centres arise in Deh Morasi Ghundai and Mundiguk (near modern Kandahar), which was probably a provincial capital of the Indus civilization. The residents maintained connections to Mesopotamia and other civilizations.

2000 - 1500 BC
Aryan peoples in Afghanistan – Kabul founded - Rig Veda allegedly created around this time - early nomadic iron age in Aq Kapruk IV
